FAQs
How is it powered?
It requires a dedicated circuit. While this makes the installation more involved, it prevents the possibility of overloading a circuit which can cause fires and trip circuit breakers. It also allows for a more powerful heater. Heaters that plug into a wall outlet are more likely to start fires than heaters with a dedicated circuit. The Model 1 connects to a single pole breaker and the Model 2 connects to a 2 pole breaker for 240 volts. A GFCI breaker may be needed depending on proximity to water.
How is it controlled?
It is controlled by a wired digital thermostat that controls the temperature and is programmable for automatic heater operation so it will operate automatically if you want it to. The fan can also be turned on separately from the heater. It is a standard HVAC thermostat and can be changed out for any other one if desired. It can also be controlled with a switch or timer if desired without having to install the thermostat.
Will it fit in my wall?
It is made to fit into a 2x4 interior wall with drywall. It can be used with other wall types but should not be used on exterior walls because they are insulated. If you have a concrete block house, it can not be installed on exterior walls. It can be surface mounted on exterior walls if desired but there is not enough room inside exterior walls.
How is it installed in the wall?
Installation involves cutting a hole in the wall. . The heater is placed in the wall and secured with provided anchors and/or screws.
Can it be installed outside of the wall on the surface?
Yes, It can be installed in a 2x4 framed surface mounted box. The entire unit would fit in the box and no holes would need to be cut into the wall. It still needs a power wire ran to it. An video will be available soon showing this installation.
Is there an air filter on it?
Yes, there is a mesh filter behind the intake cover that can be removed, cleaned and reinstalled.
How many square feet can it heat?
This varies depending on climate, insulation and whether it will be used for primary or supplemental heating. It also depends on how quickly you want to heat a room. Having it oversized will heat a room quicker but it will cycle more often. This is the reason we made the Model 2 with 2 speeds.
Model 1: For primary heating, it can heat ~100 square feet. For supplemental heating (providing additional heat while furnace is heating house), it can heat up to 200 square feet.
Model 2: For primary heating, it can heat ~200 square feet. For supplemental heating (providing additional heat while furnace is heating house), it can heat up to 400 square feet.
How difficult is it to install? Is it a DIY project?
Installation of the heater is straightforward for someone with moderate skills. The most involved part is getting the power wire to the unit. We will be making detailed step-by-step installation videos to help.
Would this make a good garage heater?
The Model 2 would make a great garage heater; however, it should never be placed where it can be an ignition source for flammable vapors such as gasoline or solvents. 3000 watts is a good size for a garage and the strong fan will move the air across the garage for more even heating. We would recommend wiring it to only operate on high to get the higher fan speed and higher heat output.
Can the fan be operated without the heater?
Yes.
Where do I get parts for it?
Parts will be available on this website for a reasonable cost after the warranty expires.
How long is the warranty? How does it work?
The warranty is 3 years and covers the entire heater. We will send replacement parts if needed with no shipping costs. It does not include labor.
Can these be used to heat a shower?
No. It can be placed outside the shower though. There are plans for a future model that can be installed in the shower.
Where are these available?
The initial model is 120 volts, 60 hertz which allow it to be used in North America. Additional models will be made in the future for 240 volt and 50 hertz applications like Europe.
Can these be used in Europe or outside North America?
There are two issues with Europe. The wall compatibility of this heater in European walls is unknown at this time and the voltage and frequency of the initial model is not compatible.

Does the heater need to be placed near the floor?
It can be placed higher on the wall if there is a need for it like avoiding tiles. It will work best near the floor and the air does come out of the return vent at a fairly high velocity so make sure the location of the air flow won’t be an issue.
